A lot of the rationale behind it is explained in the document itself but I'll give you an overview.
This document is a template, it will take you through 4 stages with prompts, explaining why each step is or isn't important, depending on your situation. Then you will have space to write down your own plan using the prompts provided. It's a document that will help you come up with a strong development plan.
Just note: This document will not just magically make you better. It's a guide to making a plan for yourself to help you to get better at whatever you want to get better at (Yes, whatever you want to get good at! or at least most things... I'm pretty confident). It does not remove hard work and it most definitely isn't a "get good quick guide". Working hard is part of this process.
I'm not here to say that I'm a genius for making this or anything, this is a pattern I've learned from others and from trying to get better at things myself, and all I've done is objectively written it down so that you too can make use of it.
It's what has worked for me. I can't guarantee it'll do the same for you but there's no harm in trying right?
